My journey into the world of special needs fitness began when I started working at Via West in Cupertino, CA, a respite camp for individuals with special needs. I quickly realized how underserved this incredible population is, not just in terms of fitness opportunities but also in terms of holistic well-being. It was during my time at Via West that I recognized a unique opportunity to merge my passion for fitness with a heartfelt commitment to making a difference. Already a certified personal trainer at the time, I decided to combine both of my passions. This decision was not just about merging two skill sets; it was about creating a space where individuals with special needs could access personalized fitness programs that not only addressed their physical well-being but also nurtured their overall health and confidence.Â
